Roadmap
Tell us what you already know and you’ll be sent to the lesson that fits, not lesson one if you’re already past it.
Where each level starts
The questions above come down to this. Knowing more moves your starting point further along the 34 lessons; nothing before it is locked, only suggested for skimming.
| If you… | Start at | First lesson |
|---|---|---|
| I’m new to networking | Fundamentals | What is a network? |
| I know what an IP address is | Addressing | IPv4 addressing |
| I can subnet and read a routing table | Switching | Ethernet & MAC addresses |
| I configure switches and routers | Network services | How DNS resolves a name |
How the check works
If you say you can skip a track, you’re offered a quick check first: 2 questions for each track you’d skip, drawn from the same question bank as the exercises. Get both right and the track is marked for skimming. Miss one and it stays on your path.
The check can only move your starting point earlier. A wrong answer is good evidence you’d benefit from a track; one right answer isn’t strong evidence you can skip it. It’s a nudge, not an exam. You can skip the check, and you can always start somewhere else.
Your answers are kept in this browser only. There’s no account, so clearing your browser data resets your roadmap.
