Terms and Conditions
Short, because the site asks little of you. The part worth actually reading is the section on the live network tools.

1. What this site is
Link to NetEra publishes free educational material about computer networking, along with
browser-based calculators, labs and practice questions. Using it costs nothing and needs
no account.
2. It is teaching material, not professional advice
Lessons and tools are written to help you understand networking and to prepare for
certifications such as CCNA and Network+. They are not a substitute for professional
engineering judgement, vendor documentation, or the actual exam objectives, and they carry
no guarantee of a result in any exam or job. Verify anything that matters against a
primary source: the site links those on purpose.
3. Accuracy, and how to report an error
The material is checked and every count on the site is counted rather than estimated, but
errors happen. If you find one, report it to
info@linktonetera.com and it will be corrected
or the claim removed.
4. The live network tools: the important part
Ping, Traceroute, MTR Report and HTTP Server Test are not simulations. They send real
traffic to the host you name, from probes on the
Globalping network. Everything else on the
site runs entirely in your browser, and anything simulated says so on the page.
When you use those four tools you agree to:
- only test hosts you own, operate, or have permission to test;
- not use them to scan, probe, flood or otherwise stress systems that are not yours;
- not use them to help with any unlawful activity, or to disguise where a test came from.
Testing a machine you do not control can be unlawful where you live, where the machine
lives, or both. Globalping’s own terms apply to the requests it carries, and access can be
rate-limited or withdrawn by them at any time.
5. Availability
The site is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available, uninterrupted,
or free of errors. It is in active development: pages, tools and features may change or be
removed. Tools that depend on outside services stop working when those services do, and
nothing here can be relied on for anything critical.
6. Your data
Your progress and saved articles are stored by your browser and never sent to this site.
There is no backup and no recovery: clearing your browser data clears them permanently.
The Privacy page sets out exactly what is stored and what
leaves your browser.
7. Content and reuse
The written lessons, illustrations, code and design on this site belong to their author.
You are welcome to read, print, quote and study from them, and to link to any page. Please
do not republish substantial parts as your own work or bulk-scrape the site. If you want to
use something in teaching, ask: the answer is usually yes.
Third-party names, standards and trademarks (Cisco, Wireshark, Wi-Fi and others) belong to
their owners and appear here only to describe the technology being taught. This site is not
affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of any of them.
8. Links out
The site links to RFCs, standards bodies and vendor documentation. Those pages are not
under this site’s control and nothing here vouches for their content.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The date at the top shows when they last did; continuing to use
the site after that means the current version applies.
